The five things in my communityis the be kind to my classmates.   I will get better grades.  My level will start heading straight up.  I will help with the group of classmates in the classroom that I am in.  If my classmates are nice and smart, I will try my best and make better choices.   Getting good grades is getting a good level.

I will learn ho play sports with my classmates.  Doing work and work hard makes us happy.  some of us get sad or mad.  I'll stay happy and sharp.  I love working with my favorite classmates.  Social studies make me work very hard.  Learning will help you get your education.

English language arts is very very easy.  Once in a while it is so hard. Sometimes I write fast.   When I first go into the classroom we have to fill out a behavior graph.   When mine is right, mine is eligible. When somebody else is wrong and the are ineligible, I will help them if it is wrong.   That is a positive impact I can do my best in my community.  I hope I do my best in high school and college. That is the end.

.IN FIVE YEARS
I will accomplish playing sports. First, I have to get good grades in school. Then I have to go to college. When I finish college, then I get drafted to the NFL, NBA, or MLB. TO get to pros, I have to finish school.

My achievement goal is to get out of Main Street. I have to make good grades. I have to stay out of trouble. I have to ignore some negative behavior.

When I turn 18 I will be driving. I will have to practice with a teacher. I will have to take a test on the computer first. I will have to achieve my learning goal. I have to test drive a car.

In five years I will accomplish baseball. I have to study my signs from the coach. Then I have to practice on the field. I have to make good grades. I also have to show sportsmanship.

Graduation/Transition from Main Street Academy

Referrals to the Main Street Academy
All applications/ referrals will be completed and submitted to Dr. Cory O. Williams for further consideration.

 Graduation/Transition from Main Street Academy

* Each student must successfully complete the level system.  The level system has four levels.

*   Students must maintain level 1-3 for two weeks per level.

*   Students must maintain level four (the highest level) for three weeks before being considered for a transition recommendation to a regular school environment.

* Once a student has successfully completed the level system, then the Main Street Academy will have a staffing to develop a formal recommendation for the student’s transition. The treatment team will develop a thorough transition plan for the student.

*    An IEP meeting will be scheduled to determine the appropriateness for the student’s transition back to regular school.

*   Once the IEP team approves of the transition, the student will return to school for half days during the first month of school.

*   After successful completion of the first month, then the student will attend full days of school.

*   During the transition of the student, the Program Director/ LCS can meet with the student at their new school for up to 30 days or as needed.

Welcome to Main Street Academy

Mission Statement:  To successfully transition students to a regular school setting.   The Main Street Academy Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services is designed to address behavioral issues in a safe therapeutic environment.   This can only be achieved with active participation by each student’s parents and or guardian’s support.

Our student goals include acquiring and practicing appropriate social skills, developing better coping skills, developing problem solving techniques, taking responsibility for behaviors, and demonstrating ethical behaviors.

We have a low teacher/student ratio.  This allows the students to be taught in an individualized and small setting.  Some of the clinical interventions include individual, group, recreation, and social skills therapy.

Student Creative Writing Corner:

I am quiet and funny
I wonder what my older brother in college is doing
I hear the AC running
I see a police officer
I am quiet and funny

I feel artistic
I touch a stress
I worry about my mom
I cry when I am mad
I am quiet and funny

I understand the truth
I dream that I'm rich with money
I try to tell the truth
I hope that I'll be rich
I am quiet and funny
